Safety Measures for Scaffolding Wheels

You have just installed your scaffolding on your construction site and you are about to start your work. But are you sure you have not neglected anything to ensure your safety and comfort of work? Remember that falls from height remain one of the main causes of serious accidents and deaths in the construction industry.  The worst can be avoided thanks to a quick check-up of the installation of your rolling scaffold and the application of 4 simple and essential measures to your safety.

1 - LEVEL UP
Check the plumb of your rolling scaffold by leveling the length and width of the base. If necessary correct using the wheel set. see scaffolding wheels

2 - BRAKE THE WHEELS
Always check the good braking of the 4 wheels, especially in unevenness.

3 - PIN AND LOCK
The pinning of the ladders is an essential step to guarantee the good behavior of the structure. Without this precaution, it is more flexible which gives a lot of discomforts and, above all, there is a risk of stalling scales.
Review all the attachment points of your mobile scaffolding, guardrails, diagonals, and floors. Make sure locks and hooks are in place.

4 - STABILIZE
If your stabilizers are oriented along the scaffolding and do not rest on the ground they are absolutely useless. Open your outriggers to the outside of the scaffold as shown in the diagram below. Then turn them on for firm ground support.
